Breast Augmentation
Two locations to serve New York City & Greater New York (Tri-State area)
Breast implant surgery, also known as breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty, has been performed since the early 1960s. While breast implants and techniques have evolved, the procedure remains one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in New York and around the world.
At SY Aesthetics, some of our surgeons have over 30 years of experience performing breast implant procedures, bringing unparalleled expertise. This wealth of knowledge and experience, shared with our newer providers, ensures that each patient receives the highest level of care and best possible outcome for their unique needs when undergoing breast augmentation in NYC or Middletown.
Types of breast implants
At SY Aesthetics, we use only FDA-approved implants, including silicone breast implants and saline breast implants. Our team offer a wide variety of options tailored to your preferences and body type, including:
- Silicone implants are filled with silicone gel (varied cohesiveness)
- Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water
- Different shapes, heights, and projections
Our Plastic Surgeons do not feel any one implant is best for all patients, as each person is unique. All of our patients receive a careful biodimensional analysis in which the ideal implant size is selected and asymmetries and anatomical differences addressed.
We select implants based on your specific needs, from high-profile implants to moderate profile implants, ensuring the most natural-looking results. We also help you decide on implant placement (above or below the muscle) and the best incision site for minimal scarring.
What to expect during Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation surgery typically takes less than an hour at our NYC or Middletown clinics. Your surgery will be performed under general anesthesia or monitored sedation by our Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, in a QUAD A accredited facility, ensuring your comfort and safety. Patients can return home the same day, with prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medication provided.

FAQs
Candidates for breast augmentation are generally adults with fully developed breasts who are in good health and have realistic expectations. You should be at least 18 years old and ideally a non-smoker. Additionally, it’s best to undergo this procedure after you’re done having children, as pregnancy can impact your results.
If you are someone with an active infection or cancer of the breast and have not yet received treatment, you will not be suitable for a breast augmentation. Those who are currently pregnant and still pregnant will not benefit from this procedure until they have completed their pregnancy and nursing.
Costs for breast augmentation can vary depending on the complexity of the case and the location. At SY Aesthetics, we pride ourselves on running an efficient operation and giving back to our patients by offering very competitive pricing.
The exact cost will depend on your unique needs and the specifics of your procedure. Our surgeons will provide an accurate quote during your consultation based on your goals and the recommended treatment plan. All quotes are all-inclusive, covering the surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, facility costs, and pre- and post-op visits, ensuring transparency and peace of mind. Third-party tests and medications are not included in the all-inclusive pricing.
In most cases, breast augmentation is considered a cosmetic procedure, meaning insurance typically does not cover it. However, if the surgery is medically necessary (such as after a mastectomy), some insurance plans may provide coverage. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific details.
At SY Aesthetics, we also offer financing plans to make your procedure more accessible, ensuring that you can achieve your desired results without financial stress. During your consultation, we can discuss flexible payment options to fit your budget.
Modern breast implants are designed to be long-lasting, often remaining in place for many years. In some cases, implants can last a lifetime without the need for replacement. Regular checkups with your surgeon and monitoring the health of your implants are important for longevity.
Most women are able to breastfeed after breast augmentation, though there is a slight risk of losing the ability to lactate. If breastfeeding is important to you, be sure to discuss this with your surgeon during the consultation.
When doing mammograms, it is important that the center is aware that you have breast implants so that they can use a technique that does not compress the implant significantly. Please make sure your center has experience with this, or we at SYA can help you find an expert site.
To ensure a smooth procedure and recovery:
- Stop smoking at least 6 weeks before surgery
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications that could increase bleeding
- Eat a healthy diet and stay hydrated
- Arrange for transportation to and from your procedure
- Wear comfortable clothing for your surgery day
Breast augmentation can:
- Enhance breast size and shape for improved body proportions
- Restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss
- Correct asymmetry or deformities for a more balanced appearance
- Boost confidence, improving self-esteem and body image
Breast augmentation can offer much more than just physical changes—it can have a profound impact on how you feel about yourself. Many women choose this procedure to enhance their natural beauty and proportions, but the emotional benefits are equally important.
You can expect:
- Increased Confidence: Whether you're looking to restore lost volume after pregnancy or weight loss, or simply enhance your natural shape, breast augmentation can help you feel more confident in your own skin.
- Improved Body Image: A balanced, proportionate figure can help you feel more comfortable in clothes, swimsuits, or anything that makes you feel like your best self.
- Empowerment: Taking control of your appearance can be an empowering experience, allowing you to define how you want to look and feel every day.
Ultimately, breast augmentation is about more than just achieving your desired appearance—it’s about feeling confident, empowered, and beautiful in your own body.
As with any surgery, there are risks, but breast augmentation is generally considered safe. Some potential risks include:
- Allergic reactions to anesthesia
- Implant leakage or rupture
- Changes in breast or nipple sensation
- Hematoma or infection
- Scarring
At SY Aesthetics, we prioritize patient safety by taking every precaution. We use the latest techniques and only FDA-approved implants to minimize risks and ensure the best possible outcomes.
