Mommy Makeover
Two locations to serve New York City & Greater New York (Tri-State area)

Achieve Your Pre-Baby Figure

The ideal Mommy Makeover involves a combination of procedures to improve the contour of the breasts as well as the body, consisting of the waist, hips, abdomen, and thighs. SY Aesthetics doctors wait at least three months after new mothers have finished breast feeding to perform a Mommy Makeover to accurately measure the final size of the breast.

If you are happy with your breast size but feel that your breasts are sagging, a Breast Lift is the best option. If your breasts are sagging and smaller than you would like, Breast Augmentation using an implant can correct minor sagging. If your breasts are very saggy and deflated, additional volume is needed in addition to skin removal. In this case, a Breast Lift with an Implant (or APEX) may be done at the same time.

Some women notice a significant increase in breast size after having children, or have always felt that their breasts were too large. A Breast Reduction can be performed to lift and reposition breast tissue into a more aesthetically pleasing shape and size. The nipple areolar complex will also be reduced during this operation.

For the abdomen, if your muscles are taut and your skin has retained elasticity, Liposuction may be the best option to reduce fat deposits in the upper and lower abdomen. If the problem is loose, saggy skin with stretchmarks and/or muscle laxity, a Tummy Tuck may be more appropriate.

The Mommy Makeover is one of the most popular procedures we offer. Our surgeons are highly trained and efficient, which decreases the amount of time and anesthesia needed, which in turn, lowers your risk from surgery. Combining multiple procedures also allows us to offer even more affordable customized packages.

FAQs

What procedures are involved with a Mommy Makeover?

A mommy makeover is an extensive procedure that aims to help new mothers regain their pre-baby form. Giving birth is one of the greatest experiences for a mother, but it can take quite a toll on their body. Because it is a highly personalized procedure, mommy makeovers are different for everyone.

Below is a list of procedures that you can get for your mommy makeover:

  • Abdominoplasty
  • Breast augmentation
  • Breast reduction
  • Breast lift
  • Liposuction
  • Vaginal rejuvenation
  • Laser resurfacing
  • Chemical peels
  • Dermabrasion
Who are ideal candidates for Mommy Makeovers?

Ideal candidates for a mommy makeover are women who have finished expanding their family and are no longer breastfeeding. They are in good health, understand the possible risks and outcomes of cosmetic surgery, and have realistic expectations of what their mommy makeover can accomplish. Additionally, they are non-smokers, are close to their ideal weight, and have concerns that are directly related to their post-pregnancy body they wish to correct.

What are the risks of getting a Mommy Makeover?

As with any kind of surgical procedure, there are risks to getting a mommy makeover. Due to being a combination of operations, you need to consider the risks while weighing the benefits carefully. You must consider risks, such as bleeding, increased chance of infection, and complications with the anesthesia.

Mommy makeovers do have some unique risks to consider, such as body asymmetry, breast implant leaks, fluid accumulation from an abdominoplasty, and difficulties breastfeeding your baby.

What are the contraindications for Mommy Makeovers?

Although mommy makeovers can help new mothers bounce back from the effects of their pregnancy, they are not for everyone. There are certain contraindications that can disqualify you from being a suitable candidate.

These contraindications include the following:

  • You smoke
  • You are obese
  • You have an active infection
  • You still have plans to expand your family
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You drink alcohol
  • You have heart disease
  • You have diabetes
  • You have high blood pressure
  • You have an autoimmune system
  • You have a bleeding disorder
  • You have unrealistic expectations regarding the procedures

If you meet any of the above criteria, Dr. Yager can offer alternative options to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

How long do the results of a Mommy Makeover last?

The results of your mommy makeover are long-lasting, oftentimes up to 10 years. However, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and eating a balanced diet. Factors such as weight fluctuations, future pregnancies, and the natural aging process can impact the longevity of your results.

How much does a Mommy Makeover cost?

The cost of a mommy makeover varies depending on which procedures are performed, your surgeon’s level of expertise, and geographical location. It is important to always consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who can advise you on which procedures can help you reach your aesthetic goals.

“Following one of the most magical and joyful times in your life, the birth of your children, women are often distressed about the changes that occur with their shape. Breasts may sag, the areolas enlarge, the abdomen expands, causing the muscles to separate and the skin to tear and create stretch marks. Hips can widen, which can affect a woman’s self confidence. Being able to restore, or even improve upon a woman’s pre-pregnancy shape is one of the most rewarding procedures I do.”
